Coolbase
COOLBASE is a vibrant and energy-neutral housing tower constructed in wood and located next to Coolhaven in Rotterdam. Its slim silhouette of tinted glazed panels forms a contrast with the former industrial site of brick and concrete buildings. The building envelope in combination with a compact circulation core and wooden frame results in a diverse set in housing types. The dwellings range from apartments for single’s, empty nesters, friends and elderly people, to double-height duplex apartments for starters and small families.
ENERGY NEUTRAL
As an energy-neutral building, COOLBASE is optimised to natural daylight, energy use and rainwater collection, and has a pergola of pv-solar cells on the roof. Additionally, the apartments are designed with a small vegetable garden positioned in the window; soundproof loggias; and panorama sliding windows that create the possibility to open up the house and to maximise the living area.
TYPOLOGIES
Coolbase offers small apartments in mid rental segment. There many different typologies combined in one tower, from small apartments of 30m2 to friend apartments, maisonettes and bigger apartments of 80m2.
