Sloterdijk

Sloterdijk is a new initiative aimed at transforming the Sloterdijk failed business district in Amsterdam into a vibrant, mixed-use urban area. The project will involve the addition of thousands of new homes, restaurants, and cultural facilities, as well as the renovation of older office buildings in innovative ways.

The initiative is a collaboration between various developers and businesses, CBRE, and the City of Amsterdam. It has been under the careful supervision of VMX Architects since 2008, who has been tasked with overseeing the urban and architectural quality.

The goal of UPtown Sloterdijk is to create a more diverse and livable urban environment that can accommodate a wider range of residents, businesses, and cultural activities. The development will also focus on sustainability, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and the use of green spaces.

The unique character of Sloterdijk 2&3 lies in its diverse range of qualities, akin to a patchwork quilt where each piece boasts its own distinct flavor and quality. Despite this diversity, there remains a natural inclination towards unity and continuity, resulting in an unmistakable identity that sets it apart from other areas.

This diversity not only enhances the area's present strength but also secures its future by allowing for adaptability and resilience in the face of changing economic conditions. Sloterdijk 2&3's flexibility towards both existing and emerging initiatives allows for tailored support for entrepreneurs, further reinforcing its position as an ideal location for businesses.
