A sculptural red volume is proposed to efficiently house the different programmatic elements of the Fire and Safety Center of Orpic.
Organized around the logistical requirements of the vehicle and equipment storage, the ground floor consists of a long, rectangular space, symmetrical in set-up. The offices and workspaces on the first floor are designed around an interior garden, and informal meeting area. Completed by the above lying watchtower, the building has a distinctive shape. Fully constructed in red pigmented concrete, the appearance of the fire station is robust and solid, only interrupted by small windows, which don’t allow the heat to enter. Extending over the ground floor volume, the first floor creates a shaded, hospitable area at the entrance of the building, along the main road.
