Four models for densification of an old high street, located in south-west London, explore key qualities of the contemporary urban living environment.

On the site, along the Old Kent Road, an existing row of three story buildings is situated, containing housing on top of a varied program in the plinth. The backside of the plot is bordered by a park. While greatly increasing the number of dwellings, the relation with the existing houses is carefully designed for each option. Variation in volume addresses the view and orientation of the dwellings, as well as the impact on the street and wider surroundings. On the ground floor, the different models all include collective or public space, designed as either indoor or outdoor space, connected with the adjacent park and workshops in the plinth.
